On Leaving The Corporate World!

Yesterday, I felt excited, emotional, and joyful. I even did a little dance alone, thrilled about what lies ahead.

Today, I feel numb. Lost. Unsure.

It’s a bittersweet roller-coaster of emotions, and I’ve struggled to put it into words.

Perhaps it’s because I can barely comprehend these feelings myself.

But here I am, taking a leap of faith into an unknown professional path.

After spending over a decade working in an MNC as an in-house legal counsel—leading a team and climbing the corporate ladder steadily—I decided to leave it all behind: my legal education, lucrative career path, and corporate experience.

Why did I choose to change my career path? It was a culmination of many things, to be honest.

I felt unsettled internally, searching for a new anchor in my work.

I discovered my greatest joy came from coaching my team and watching them grow, which sparked my desire to explore business and leadership coaching further.

After years of working as a risk manager, I yearned to become a risk taker and facilitator.

My work had lost its challenge and excitement, and I’d always dreamed of building something from scratch—it seemed like the perfect time to make the change. If not now, then when?

So now I’m diving headfirst into the world of coaching, traveling, entrepreneurship, and writing—embracing whatever opportunities may come.

While I can’t predict where this exploration will lead, I’m excited about the journey ahead!

I’ve always been drawn to business studies and even self-studied MBA subjects, spending considerable time researching and reflecting on this field.

Instead of formal studies, now I’m choosing to learn about business management through direct experience—living it and taking action.

I’ll document and share my journey, hoping it might help others in similar situations.

Whoever needs to read this – Just know that it is absolutely okay to not know enough, not be sure, and still do things – that’s how one learns more about oneself and the world.

Sometimes it’s good to take a risk that has the potential to alter the trajectory of your life. If not, you would at least have learned some valuable lessons.

Let’s see where this new path leads—onwards and upwards!
